These exceptional antique Victorian sterling silver candlesticks have a circular rounded form.
The plain cylindrical capital of each silver candlestick is plain and encircled with an applied moulded border to the rim.
The capitals retain the original hallmarked push fit sconces, ornamented to the rim with chased leaf decoration.
The waisted column of each candlestick is embellished with chased leaf decoration to a large compressed circular knop, in addition to leaf motifs enveloping the lower portion.
These impressive columns surmount circular spreading bases, each ornamented with four large palmette style leaf designs, with further applied foliate decoration to the rim.
These piano candle holders do not have weighted bases.
These silver candle holders were crafted by the important and renowned London silversmith Robert Garrard II, subsequently R & S Garrard & Co.
