An exceptional, fine and impressive antique George V English sterling silver porringer made by Lambert & Co; part of our collectable silverware collection

This exceptional antique George V sterling silver porringer has a plain inverted bell shaped form onto a collet base, all in the classic 17th century style.


The surface of this porringer is embellished with impressive engraved stylised foliate decoration accented with stork style birds.


The porringer is fitted with two impressive cast sterling silver S scroll handles ornamented with plain scrolling details.


The underside of this antique porringer is encircled with the contemporary engraved presentation inscription 'To Peter Hugh Dudley-Ryder, April 28th 1913 from his Godmother Alice Mary Godman'.


This exceptional example of George V silverware was crafted by the renowned London silversmith Herbert Charles Lambert of Lambert & Co and bears the retailer's mark 'Lambert, Coventry St London' to the underside.

This antique sterling silver porringer bowl is an exceptional gauge of silver, exceptional quality and in exceptional condition.

There are some natural fire marks to the surface of the porringer, in keeping with age.

The engraved decoration is all very crisp.

Full hallmarks struck to the surface of the porringer are all very clear; the hallmarks are struck deeply due to the exceptional gauge of silver.
