This exceptional antique George V sterling silver porringer has a plain inverted bell shaped form onto a collet base, all in the classic 17th century style.
The surface of this porringer is embellished with impressive engraved stylised foliate decoration accented with stork style birds.
The porringer is fitted with two impressive cast sterling silver S scroll handles ornamented with plain scrolling details.
The underside of this antique porringer is encircled with the contemporary engraved presentation inscription 'To Peter Hugh Dudley-Ryder, April 28th 1913 from his Godmother Alice Mary Godman'.
This exceptional example of George V silverware was crafted by the renowned London silversmith Herbert Charles Lambert of Lambert & Co and bears the retailer's mark 'Lambert, Coventry St London' to the underside.
