This magnificent, fine and impressive antique Monteith style Edwardian silver bowl, crafted in sterling standard, has a circular form onto a circular domed foot.
The large body of this sterling silver bowl is embellished with an impressive bright cut engraved coat of arms depicting a central shield shape ornamented with three stars, framed by drawn curtains with tassels and a domed crown positioned to the apex.
The Monteith style rim of this antique bowl is ornamented with cast and applied decoration to the border accented with eight chased decorated figural masks above pendant drop designs.
The domed portion of the foot is encircled with chased gadroon style decoration.
The underside bears the inscription 'July 19th 1883-1908'.
By virtue of its size, this versatile Monteith style silver bowl could be used as a bottle cooler or a magnificent presentation piece.
