This exceptional antique George V sterling silver string box has a circular rounded form.

The surface of this unusual box is plain and embellished with a broad band of pierced scrolling designs.

This impressive antique string box is retains the original, hallmarked push fit cover ornamented with a further band of pierced scrolling motifs.

The plain domed portion of the cover features a pierced circular hole allowing access to the string ball.

The lower collet portion of the cover is encircled with an applied moulded border.

This unusual box was crafted by the renowned American silversmiths Gorham Manufacturing Company*.

This antique string box is a very good gauge of silver, excellent quality and in exceptional presentation condition.
