These exceptional antique George III cast sterling silver taper candlesticks have a plain classical English four shell form.
The plain cylindrical capitals are encircled with bands of rope twist and tooled decoration.
The upper portion of the waisted shaped column features a panelled quatrefoil shaped knop embellished with lobed designs to each corner.
Each column is further ornamented with a plain circular knop to the lower portion encompassed with further rope twist decoration.
These decorative columns surmount quatrefoil incurved shaped bases embellished with four shell ornamentation, in addition to the contemporary bright cut engraved crest of a lion's head wearing a coronet.
These antique Georgian silver tapersticks do not have weighted bases.
