This exceptional antique George III sterling silver tray has an oval form onto four bracket style feet.
The surface of this tea tray is embellished with a large and impressive contemporary engraved coat of arms of on a bend between two bull's heads erased, three lozenges, all above the motto 'Delectat amor patriae' - The love of our native land delights.
The coat of arms is surmounted with the crest of a demi-bull salient*.
The raised rounded border of this antique sterling silver tray with handles is ornamented with applied gadroon decoration to the rim.
This antique tray is fitted with a fine pair of cast sterling silver handles ornamented with ribbed handpieces, in addition to leaf designs enveloping the terminals.
The tray is supported by four impressive cast silver bracket style feet, encompassed with further gadroon decoration.
