The large surface of this antique silver gallery tray is encompassed with impressive bands of flat engraved greek key and volute scrolling bands.
The surface of the tray if further ornamented with the contemporary bright cut engraved crest of a lion guardant, in his forepaws a latin cross.
The raised rounded border of this antique tray is embellished with pierced vertical pales with an impressive applied bead decorated border to the rim.
The tray is fitted with two impressive rounded handpieces, accented with a continuation of bead decoration to the swept terminals.
The underside of the tray features six compressed bun style feet, in addition to the retailer's mark 'J. Mayer, Silversmith, Liverpool'.
