Sterling Silver Tray by Thomas Bradbury & Sons - Antique Victorian (1895)

This magnificent, fine and impressive antique Victorian sterling silver tray has a rectangular form.

The surface of the large sterling silver tray with handles is embellished with exceptional flat engraved decoration; each corner of the surface is ornamented with impressive and large splayed leaf motif that spirals towards the corners of the tray.

The surface is further ornamented with exceptional stylised floral and foliate designs that cover the majority of the tray's surface, incorporating a rectangular vacant cartouche to the centre.

The raised incurved border of the tray is ornamented with cast and applied gadroon decoration to the rim.

This fine example of antique silver is fitted with an exceptional, large pair of cast handles ornamented with impressive foliate decoration and a central shell motif.

The underside of this magnificent tray bears the retailer's mark 'Hall & Co, Kings, St, Manchester'

This large sterling silver tray with handles is an exceptional gauge of silver, exceptional quality and in exceptional presentation condition.

The flat engraved decoration is crisp, the gadroon, foliate and shell decoration decoration is sharp.

Full hallmarks struck to the underside of the tray are all very clear; the hallmarks are struck deeply due to the exceptional gauge of silver.
