An exceptional, fine and impressive, large antique Victorian English sterling silver mustard pot; an addition to our silver cruets/condiments collection

This exceptional and large antique Victorian sterling silver mustard pot has an oval form.


The surface of the elliptic cylinder-shaped body is plain and unembellished, with applied borders to the upper and lower rims.


This fine mustard pot retains the original hallmarked plateaued hinged cover surmounted with an impressive cast thumbpiece.


The surface of the cover is ornamented with a contemporary engraved wreath bordered cartouche bearing the roman numerals 'XXIX' - 29.


This plain silver mustard pot is fitted with a cast C shaped handle, with a plateaued upper portion.


The mustard pot retains the original removable blue glass liner.


This exceptional and large mustard pot is supplied with an associate sterling silver spoon crafted by William Eley I & William Fearn in 1816.


Such large examples of Victorian mustard pots are becoming increasingly difficult to locate.

Date: 1859

This antique mustard pot is an exceptional gauge of silver, exceptional quality and in exceptional condition.

The engraved decoration has wear in keeping with age and location.

Full hallmarks struck to the surface and part hallmarks to the interior of the cover are all very clear.


Reflections in photographs may detract from the true representation of this piece of Victorian silverware.
