This exceptional vintage Elizabeth II sterling silver cigar / cigarette box has a plain rectangular form.
The surface of this vintage silver cigar box is plain and unembellished.
Either end of the box is fitted with an impressive hallmarked sterling silver, hinged handle with an incurved handpiece.
This example of vintage silverware is fitted with a hallmarked hinged solid silver cover ornamented with the contemporary engraved inscription 'Colonel H. H. Ayroyd. O.B.E., M.C., T.D., J.P., Chairman 1945-1970'.
The ornamentation to the cover incorporates a logo depicting a lion passant above the initials 'NABC', all encompassed with 'Yorkshire Association Boys Clubs'; it can be determined that this pertains to the earlier variation of the present day 'National Association of Boys and Girls Clubs'.
The interior of the cover retains the original gilding.
The body of this exceptional box is fitted with the original cedar wood lining and adjustable dividers; this box can be refitted with a bespoke velvet trinket/jewellery box fitment upon request.
This sterling silver box has a weighted base and retains the original covering to the underside.
By virtue of its size this versatile box could be used for a multitude of functions.
