An exceptional, fine and impressive antique Victorian English sterling silver cream jug; an addition to our silver teaware collection

This fine antique Victorian sterling silver cream jug has a plain circular inverted bell shaped form, in the classic Georgian style.


The body of this Victorian cream jug is embellished with chased floral and scrolling foliate designs above a plain applied girdle.


The lower portion of the body is embellished with further chased decoration depicting a swan and antique fish design amidst water reeds, in addition to a large rose design to the lower portion of the handle.


The decoration to the body incorporates a scroll bordered cartouche to the underside of the rim and features the contemporary bright cut engraved initials 'EAJC'


The jug is further ornamented with a shaped undulating upper rim.


This impressive example of Victorian teaware is fitted with an opposing scroll handle with a leaf decorated thumbpiece


This Victorian cream jug is supported by three impressive cast and applied paw feet with impressive lion mask sockets in junction with the body.

This antique cream jug is an exceptional gauge of silver for its type, exceptional quality and in exceptional condition.

Full hallmarks struck to the underside of the jug are very clear.
