This exceptional antique George V cut glass biscuit barrel has a circular rounded form, and is part of our silver biscuit boxes collection.
The glass vessel is fitted with a plain cylindrical hallmarked sterling silver mount to the rim.
This antique biscuit barrel retains the original and exceptional push fit hallmarked circular cover embellished with blue hot enamel incorporating a gold, red, green and black floral ornamentation to the centre.
The cover is further ornamented with two simple offset scalloped borders accented with stylised leaf ornamentation to the outer circumference.
The impressive glass body is ornamented with large cut glass lozenge designs segmented with horizontal pales, in addition to a star cut motif to the underside.
Such examples incorporating a large enamel cover are rare to the market and highly desirable.
