This exceptional antique Victorian sterling silver box has a rectangular form with rounded corners.

The solid silver gilt body of this box is overlaid with impressive spiralling filigree ornamentation arranged into geometric foliate designs.

This antique silver box is fitted with a hallmarked hinged cover embellished with further scrolling filigree ornamentation incorporating a central vacant rectangular cartouche.

The anterior edge of the cover features an applied rounded, incurved shaped thumbpiece.

The underside of the box is embellished with engine turned decoration.

This impressive filigree silver box retains the original gilded anterior and interior.
