This exceptional Edwardian sterling silver jewellery casket has a rectangular form onto four cushion feet.
The surface of this antique jewellery casket is embellished with plain convex embossed rectangular panels, each with rounded corners.
The original hallmarked hinged cover is ornamented with embossed oval designs, incorporating an Art Nouveau style portrait of a female nurse in period attire to the centre.
The cover is further ornamented with two feature hallmarked, applied ornamental tee style hinges in an iconic, organic Art Nouveau design, segmenting the aforementioned embossed decoration and securing with copper rivets.
The anterior surface of the cover is further ornamented with a hinged hallmarked catch, incorporating further copper rivet ornamentation, in addition to a further embossed oval motif.
The body of this fine silver jewellery casket features a bespoke navy blue velvet fitment which has a central well with an integrated ring holder to one side.
This antique box is weighted and retains the original leatherette covering to the underside.
