Sterling Silver Locking Double Cover Tea Caddy - Antique Georgian

This exceptional antique George III sterling silver locking tea caddy has a plain rounded rectangular form with incurved corners.

The surface of this caddy is plain and embellished to the lower portion of each side with fluted decoration.

This antique silver tea caddy is fitted with two opposing hallmarked flush hinged covers; the flush hinge indicates the fine quality of this piece.

The caddy has an impressive angular thread decorated handle with incurved corners and accented with bifurcating leaf decorated terminals to either side.

The caddy retains the original fitted fully working locks and the original key.

Double covered caddies are becoming increasingly difficult to locate.

This Georgian tea caddy is an exceptional gauge of silver, exceptional quality and in excellent presentation condition.

Full hallmarks struck to the underside of the body and part hallmarks to the interior of each cover are all very clear.
