The body of the box is embellished with impressive tooled decoration, accented with cast and applied scrolling foliate and floral ornamentation to the lower rim.
This exceptional example of antique silverware is fitted with a hinged hallmarked cover embellished with a further applied foliate and floral decorated border.
The upper plateau of the cover is ornamented with an engine turned bordered oval cartouche displaying the contemporary bright cut engraved crest of an armoured arm embowed holding a dove, between two garbs.
The cover of this silver box is further embellished with an exceptional cast and applied domed, incurved border to the upper portion, reflecting the ornamentation to that of the rims.
