The circular sterling silver tazza dish has a central shallow circular well encompassed with bands of thread decoration, to an intertwining, interlacing reed decorated lattice work body, creating a floral design.
The dish vessel is further ornamented with an impressive embossed leaf and bead decorated border.
The ornamental body of the tazza surmounts an exceptional cast silver pedestal constructed of a kneeling putto* covered with fabric swags, embracing and supporting the dish in their grasp.
The substantial waisted base is embellished with impressive bead decoration to the upper portion, with an impressive chased decorated band to the lower portion.
The rim of the tazza bears the retailer's mark 'R&S Garrard, Panton St, London'.
This desirable tazza was crafted by the renowned silversmith Robert Garrard II, subsequently R & S Garrard & Co.
